August/ September 2006:
Ireland:
It was another fantastic time in Ireland with a Friday night performance in An Culturlann, Belfast followed by a Saturday night spot at the Gig n the Bann festival with Flook.
Thanks again to Aodhan for having the band back over, and also to Gerry not only for a great job on the sound, but for taxi-ing everyone to a fantastic pub in Belfast for a late night session, Maddens. Great music there and the band are really grateful to the folk who invited us down - Marie, Marie-Louise & husband, Kieran and Dennis.
Saturday night was great fun too and thanks to Brian McCart and the rest of the comittee for inviting us back to the Bann. As usual the sound was superbly managed by Brian Boyle and his crew which made the band’s job really easy. It was also great to see Flook there finishing the Saturday night with a fantastic set. The evening was recorded by the BBC for Colum Sands’ radio show ‘the Folk Club’ which normally broadcasts on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio Foyle on Saturday evenings.

It was great to see fellow Scottish band there, ‘Swingin Fiddles’ who we all thought were fantastic. Please take a look at there website.
Last but not least the band would like to thank friend and fellow musician Paul (Shaggy) for his support.
Common Ground
Hard to believe how quickly the time passes but it was back to Common Ground for a week of teaching, sessions and gigs, and great fun it was too. Thanks to all the organizers involved, thanks to John and Chris again for the sound, and thanks to Chuck Warren and Rory Allardice for the photographs.
June 2006:
Back into the north of the border again for a gig at the Loanhead Music Festival, with thanks again to all involved, then it was off to the Denholm Folk Club, and another great night thanks to a good crowd of people.
May 2006:
23rd May, a very enjoyable night at Cramlington Folk Club, where the atmosphere reflected the good spirit and nature of the people of the North East - many thanks to Jiva for the review. After that it was off to Lynn’s home village of Rothbury for another great evening at Rothbury Roots, and special thanks to Andy for a great job with the sound, and to Kevin for having the band back again.
April 2006:
Another successful and highly enjoyable weekend for Common Ground in Arran saw the return of Tam White and Fraser Spiers kicking off a fantastic weekend of music. It was also a pleasure to see young up and coming traditional band Ceolas Folk taking to the stage having won a number of awards now in recognition of the talents of all the band members.

Scott Macdonald was also a huge success at the Queens Head in Rothbury. Within the next few weeks west coast folk band Legacy, fronted by Paul Creighton, should also be playing at the Queens.
For Lyra Celtica, the Scottish tour during February and March was a great success, and also saw the album enjoying airplay on Radio Scotland, in Ireland, England and Wales, as well as abroad in such places as Canada and Russia, following a great review in the Living Tradition magazine (issue 65).
